What Do These Numbers Mean?

• False Acceptance Rate (FAR): The probability that the system incorrectly accepts an unauthorized person. Lower is better for security.
• False Rejection Rate (FRR): The probability that the system incorrectly rejects an authorized person. Lower is better for user convenience.
